Test Description

Venient Cx Cardiovascular Function Comprehensive is a groundbreaking blood-based screening test that provides extensive information about cardiovascular function.

This is an Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine (EBLM) test developed not only in compliance with the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, but also incorporating the latest scientific findings. Thanks to our proprietary machine learning (ML) algorithms, this test is able to accurately detect atherogenic dyslipidaemia (AD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in all stages, and delivers comprehensive information. Besides, it can also suggest the 10-year likelihood of developing CVD.

United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) screening recommendations

The USPSTF recommends against screening with resting or exercise electrocardiography (ECG) to prevent cardiovascular disease (CVD) events in asymptomatic adults at low risk of CVD events. However, Kience Inc. recommends our laboratory-developed test (LDT) Venient Cx Cardiovascular Function Comprehensive to address patients with clinical suspicion of: atherogenic dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), overweight, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking or vaping habit, arterial hypertension, hypothyroidism, Cushing's syndrome, chronic inflammatory disease (e.g. SLE, RA, or psoriasis), metabolic syndrome, chronic kidney disease, abdominal obesity (waist circumference >94 cm in men or >80 cm in women), or familiar hypercholesterolemia.

Intended Use

The intended population for Venient Cx Cardiovascular Function Comprehensive test are patients with clinical suspicion of: atherogenic dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking or vaping habit, arterial hypertension, hypothyroidism, Cushing's syndrome, chronic inflammatory disease (SLE, RA, psoriasis), alcoholism, metabolic syndrome, chronic kidney disease, abdominal obesity, or familiar hypercholesterolemia.

Sample Clinical Vignette

A 55-year-old male with a history of sedentary lifestyle, ex-smoker (AD 40 pack/year) with dyslipidemia and obesity presented for medical evaluation after a 1-week of dyspnea on exertion and intermittent episodes of shortness of breath. Physical exam revealed obesity (BMI 35 Kg/m2), hypertension (150/95 mmHg), mild tachycardia (102 bpm), and mild edema in the lower limbs. Serum is submitted to determine the lipid profile of the patient as well as his cardiovascular risk profile.
